Four Yoga Exercises to Help in Reducing Chronic Back Pain

Reducing back pain, healing back problems and managing your back’s health is easy through the help of back exercises, particularly yoga. In this post, we’ll educate you on how you can relieve your chronic back pain by choosing yoga to be a part of your chronic pain treatment.

Why Yoga for Back Pain?

  • Facilitates your spinal movement
  • Reduces stress
  • Ensures production of certain chemicals from the body and brain that suppresses painful signals
  • Makes a person happy, healthy and enthusiastic

Four Effective Yoga Postures You Can’t Miss Out On:

Posture # 1 – Child Pose

Inhale in a way that your chest raises and your back forms the shape of an arch. Now exhale by tucking your belly inside, placing your chin with the chest and curving your back. Repeat a few times and then relax just the way a child does, by placing hips to your heels and extending your arms forward in front of you.

Posture # 2 – Cobra Rising and Rest

Lie down on your tummy and place your arms on the sides (either bent on your chest, or stretched ahead).  Raise your head, shoulders, chest, and legs as you breathe in and keep inhaling until you reach the last comfort level. At exhaling, relax yourself and cup your hands like a pillow for your head.

Posture # 3 – Cradle Pose

Lie down on your back and intersect one foot over the opposite leg closer to your knee. Now bring the leg at your bottom towards your belly and clinch your hands behind your thigh at the same time. While doing this, make sure to keep your head and shoulders comfortably on the floor.

Posture # 4 – Relaxation Pose with Belly Breathing

Working people won’t like this specific yoga pose, but it’s extremely important to keep your body relaxed and free from chronic pain. Lie down on your back, and put your legs on some sofa or chair for support. Now close your eyes and lightly direct them between your eyebrows. Unwind the entire brow, the jaw and loosen your chin. Lastly, be conscious of your natural breath and its pace. You can also simply lie down with your legs bent in this posture.

Not only will these four exercises help you reduce your painful back, but will also completely relax your mind and body. Please visit pain clinic for further help on yoga exercises and their role in reducing chronic back pain.
